The Guilford County Genealogical Society, founded in 1974, is a non-profit organization of about 230 members nationwide, dedicated to genealogy and family history research, education and publication.  GCGS promotes interest in genealogy and standards of genealogical research through its educational programs and publications. GCGS also promotes the collection and preservation of family records, manuscripts, documents and other genealogy materials.  Many of GCGS's programs are of general interest to anyone interested in genealogy while focus on preserving  Guilford County genealogy,
